An
emergency appendectomy, two consecutive pregnancies
and depression over losing her mother to cancer,
all within a short 2 year period, had taken its
toll on Esther.
Her petite 4'11' frame now weighted a whopping 170+
lbs! She didn't have the desire to do anything or
go anywhere, and chose to hide behind closed doors
and forget the world around her.
Within the walls of her sanctuary, she started tuning
in to TSN's coverage of the Fitness Canada Pageant
Series and got hooked! |
Home: Waverley, ON
Occupation: Stay at home mom

Year 2000's resolution
began with very little money and a tiny home gym
set up in the corner of her kitchen (the house
is too small to fit it in anywhere else).
She visited a local Musclemag store and purchased
the Women's Total FItness book ( which she calls
her "bible") and began studying it.
Her husband bought her a subscription to Oxygen
Magazine for Christmas, and soon Esther had all
of the tools she needed to make her transformation.
Not having any gymnastics or sports experience
from highschool, she decided to set her sights
on bodybuilding. |
Esther managed
to train in a tiny home gym space set up in the
corner of her kitchen |
Without a personal trainer, coach, nutritionist,
gym membership, sponsor, endorsement, or even
a training partner... she decided to enter
the 2004 Musclemania National Championships
that were held in Toronto on May 29th!
It was the first time she ever stepped out
onto a stage in front of an audience, and
she managed to walk away with a 5th place
trophy in the Masters Female and a 1st Place
trophy in the Novice Female categories.
Esther's advice to those around her is: "
Never underestimate your own potential." |
